I wasn't sure about my mental health and a session with dr Denny made it more clear to understand what should I do. I am glad that I talked with him.

Dr Denny is a very approachable, friendly, knowledgable doctor and I am so pleased I got to see him. This is the first step in a long process for me, and he was so empathetic and put a positive light on the darkest days of my life so far.

I asked about a break from my studies and initially he was a bit apprehensive of the idea but as I pushed on further he seemed to have changed his mind and he supported it at the end.

My first ever psychiatric assessment after suffering for a number of years. Dr Denny made me feel at ease, he was caring and professional. He explained things well and I have a clearer understanding of my mental health. I feel comforted by the support and information given.

Profile

I am a Consultant Psychiatrist. I was an NHS Consultant in Adult Mental Health for over 20 years and now work privately.

I trained as a doctor at Bristol University. I have a degree in Psychology and a Certificate in Psychotherapy. I became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 1996 and a Fellow of the College a decade ago.

I make sure my patients receive a comprehensive assessment and appropriate treatment. In addition to prescribing medication, my psychodynamic approach helps to understand how past experiences relate to present difficulties. This can often be the key to recovery.
